I came to UIUC having earned a B.A. in anthropology at the University of Notre Dame (’06) and a M.A. in anthropology from the University of New Mexico (’13). I’m continuing my training in sociocultural anthropology and am currently in the pre-proposal stage of Ph.D. study. My research themes include borders, belonging, and bodies, and I’m especially interested in addictive and compulsive behaviors, the everydayness of adolescent life, diagnostics of membership, and contemporary rural living in Korea.
